Relocated. Still Adjusting, One Year Later in 2022

It felt like we will never ever leave San Francisco but here we are. My husband and I settled in or getting there, at least. An understatement sort of. We got our living space, church, daily routine and food. However, other than that, we still are aught to widen our social circle as we realized that our age of 64 and 69 respectively, friendship doesn't grow in trees, especially when you uprooted from the state you lived for like the rest of your life. But it has its blessings. it is peaceful where we are. No shooters or homelessness. You see one or two waving under the bridge other than that, all is well. We move to Texas in mid June 2021 as part of our "retirement plan" which came fast actually after having been exposed to a lot of bad elements in the city. San Francisco, the great city we loved was not the same as it was nineteen years ago when we moved there as a newly married couple. It was peaceful, clean, beautiful and filled with memorable things. Now, it is deteriorating and we are just happe, we are out of it. So let us talk about Texas, its size, people, food, weather and whatnot. They say, "everything is big in Texas." They are damn right. From the state size to the food serving, it is almost impossible not to see its grandeur. The weather is bearable because we are not out in the sun for most of the time but indoors. It is funny in a way because after moving here, I thought that I could just easily wear a pair of shorts and tank top and that easy, i could dash and stay cool indoor elsewhere in a restaurant or shopping mall. But hell no, you got to have a pull over or you freeze to death since the establishments here set tbe a/c to full blast to compensate from the heat outside. So during our early days here last here and even now, hubby always has a pullover on and a baseball cap.
